Lincoln In Illinois is Under Production
The first documentary film selected by WHEF to be completed, “In The Declaration All Men Are Created Equal,” Abraham Lincoln in Illinois, 1830 to 1860, is now under production. The script is being researched and written; it is expected to be completed before early August 2018. All still images are being selected and, where required, licensed. Three key performers have been selected: Joe Woodard from Hazel Dell, Illinois, will portray the beardless Lincoln of Illinois; he is a seasoned Lincoln presenter. Tim Conners, a long-time Stephen Douglas performer, will portray the “Little Giant,” Senator Stephen A. Douglas. Jason Hosfield, another Illinoian, will portray Judge David Davis.
It is anticipated that scenes will be filmed in September at the Old State Capitol, the Lincoln Herndon Law Office, and the Lincoln Home in Springfield, Illinois, as well as the Old Woodford County Courthouse in Metamora, Illinois, and the Logan County Courthouse in Mt. Pulaski, Illinois. In October, scenes will be filmed in Lincoln’s New Salem State Park and on properties adjacent thereto.
Updates on the production will be posted periodically.
